Global Developmental Delay
Global developmental delay is when children display unusually slow development in the areas of language and vision acquisition, movement, and social, emotional, and cognitive skills. These symptoms may sometimes be a result of another condition such as Down's syndrome, cerebral palsy, or autism spectrum disorder.
Interventions
No two people are the same, so we believe there is no one program that can benefit everyone equally. All therapeutic programs are developed based on the person's unique personality and learning needs.
The powerful MNRI® Method is used to treat developmental delays through addressing the fact that language, cognition, and motor systems are all linked domains. This extremely effective therapeutic intervention helps the brainstem re-pattern this underlying sensory-motor-cognition system for better regulation, learning, and movement control. As the only Level 3 Masgutova specialist in the country who has completed training in 7 MNRI® protocols, Colleen-Maree Bates offers unique expertise in this powerful form of intervention.
People with developmental delays often display auditory problems including the need to have instruction repeated, misinterpreting communications, and language and learning difficulties. The Tomatis® Method works on the neural circuits involved in balance, coordination, and the decoding and analysis of sounds. It aims to help children develop strategies to manage their movement and communication difficulties. As the first WA licensed provider of the Tomatis® Method, Colleen-Maree Bates possesses extensive experience in the effective application of its techniques.
